Leading Edge Salon’s Aveda Makeup Tutorial: Semi-Matte Complexion

Prep, Color, Finish! With Aveda, Product + Technique = RESULTS!

Watch this short video to see how easy it is, with the right products and techniques, to achieve a gorgeous semi-matte complexion!

The secret to beautiful makeup is to properly prep the skin. Aveda’s Enbrightment line will not only allow your makeup to glide on more smoothly but also deliver s effective skin care results. In the video you see the use of our Brightening Correcting Cream.

After the Correcting Cream you will be ready for complexion color. You will want to use Aveda’s mineral tinted moisture (SPF 15 and oil-free).

Using the Aveda complexion brush, apply tinted moisture to the face. The complexion brush makes it easy to build the coverage you want! Buff it out with a damp sponge for a well-blended look.

Next, use a bit of concealer and, using the complexion brush, apply the concealer to any areas that need extra coverage. Use a light patting motion to build coverage, a little at a time.

The next step, using the Inner light Foundation Brush with Inner Light mineral pressed powder, is key to getting the semi-matte finish. This helps set the powder and reduce shine.

When you create a matte complexion, you want to finish with a soft wash of cheek color. With the Aveda Eurku bronzing brush, apply face accents using circular strokes from the apples of the cheeks, along the cheek bones and towards the temple.
